Hi Gurus:
For a particular Server i have HP RP5470 Enterprise Solution (2 CPUs/4 GB RAM). I need to assess whether the CPU is acceptable.

docs say the following:
Minimum: Ultra 5 class CPU
Recommended: Enterprise 420R class CPU or better

Do you know if the machine meets the standard?

thanks,

Without knowing what CPU spec your HP server has or what software you're trying to run, it's hard to answer your question. Then again, Sun hardware would probably be running a Sun Solaris OS, so the OS is another factor to consider.

Try this helpful site for information about Sun Hardware. It also has links to hardware specs on the Sun web site.

Link to the Sun Hardware Manual Collection:
[the Enterprise 420R seems to be under Entry-Level Servers]

The sneaky way to get the answer would be to talk to a Sun sales rep. Just tell him or her that you want to replace your HP equipment with its Sun equivalent. Ask about older Sun equipment.
