Hardware Freeze on 6100 using Intel Pro 1000/T

Hi I've recently installed an Intel Pro 1000/T Server Adapter card into my dual processor 6100/200 server. It's a 64bit PCI card operating in a 32 bit slot. However the server is now experiencing freezes, where it drops all network connectivity and the console goes blank. Not sure whether I have a faulty NIC or if it's simply a case of incompatibility. Any suggestions welcome.

it sounds like a case of incompatability, there is a network driver for the pro 1000 v 4.2 available for Linux at

http://support.euro.dell.com

However if you're running a windows box this won't be much help also I believe that the T version of this card rquires 5.0 drivers.

You could try upgrading the bios to see if this will fix the issue
