Is there a program that anybody knows of that tells you the names of various hardware on your system so that it saves opening the system up.?? And finfding the write drives for the hardware.
 
Sisoft Sandra is a nice program that does just that, among other things.

I think the EZDRIVE or MAXBLAST program that Maxtor and other hard drive vendors sometime allow people to download has a utility to look at hard drives, tell you what the serial numbers are and may have the jumper design of most drives also.

You can get that from Maxtor Website under Service Support at the software download link.
