Hi All,

I received excellent suggestions on a previous post regarding transfer of data from an NCR Tower running SCO Unix to a Windows server.

However, we also have a Compaq server running SCO Unix and I did not mention that the NCR Tower has an external scsi drive.

Assuming we can find suitable adapters to connect the external hard drive from the NCR tower system to the Compaq server, should we be able to copy the data directly from the external hard drive onto the Compaq? Are there security constraints? Is it even feasible?

All responses much appreciated

Richard

It may be as simple as finding the correct cable. Most SCSI adapters have external capability.

There are considerations. You have to create the capability on the new host then connect it. And the connection can result in loss of data if you don't answer the questions correctly.

And there would be questions about the operating system compatibility.
