Hey in dire need of help and would appreciate any

I have an Iomega 250GB external hardrive, that had worked fine for six months until today. I took it from its suual spot on my PC , downstairs to connect it to my xbox 360 (foolishly this idea didnt work). So today when i take the hardrive back upstairs and plug it in, the computer dosent seem to recognize it. The only trace of it is a small icon in the taskbar stating that ishould safely remove the hardware.

If i click on manage within my computer the hardrive is nowhere to be found within disk management. The hardrive turns on fine, no unusual noises. And the cables are damage free

Please help me get the hardrive back up and running, very important documents and family photos are at stake

Thanks in advance

When you moved it, did you stop it using "Safely Remove Hardware"? The drive could have been in use when you removed it. A file-recovery app like GetDataBack will fix problems with the MFT and MBR.

You can also try MS' autoplay repair wizard:
