We're getting ready to upgrade to NG and figured this would be a good time to upgrade the server and the OS. Does anyone have any tips on hardening Windows 2000 before we install NG. I've looked through Checkpoint's support site and I can't find anything on Windows 2000.

Has anyone installed NG on a Windows 2000 machine? Would love to hear about your experiences.

Did anyone ever answer your question?
I am going through the same thing and having a tough time finding Documentation

Thank you

No one has responded other than you. I installed NG on our Windows 2000 server but haven't performed the switch yet. Checkpoint has documentation on how to transfer the rules and other configuration files but that's about it. I followed their steps and everything seemed to transfer just fine.

Before you install NG on Windows 2000 make sure you install Routing and Remote Access and turn the server into a gateway. I was thinking NG would do this for you but it doesn't.
