My 20 Gb HD is gaining data at a rate of about 1MB every 4 days. I am not down loading any programs or anything I want to keep, also I daily run a program to clean out all the cookies, etc. I have deleted all programs that I am not using, also I am allowing SYSTEM RESTORE to to have only 1022 MB of space. My OS is XP home with SP2. Can someone please help me determine where this data is coming etc.
Thanks in advance.

temporary internet files?

(1MB every 4 days isn't a lot - btw, where do you get that figure from?)

Have you a problem with lack of space? (hard drives are very inexpensive now).

1MB every 4 days. I'd be more worried about the sun exploding than this. [smile]

So in 4000 days you'd fill up a gigabyte of your 20GB file.

In almost 11 years you would have filled up 1/20th of the drive with temp files provided they dont overwrite anything.

11 Years for one measly gig.
