Plse if u can suggest anything useful.....Parity boot virus on hdd initially.....Fixes cuased the hdd to only detect in bios but fdisk does not detect....tried ghosting but hdd not available for dos or outside bios.......plse advise.....thanx

Zero fill utility. Zero fill one sector with a debug sequence on the pc hardware forum. Zap from seagate. Norton for DOS, overwrite the boot sector with zeros.
Any of these will allow fdisk to find an unpartitioned drive. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

If you want to try rebuilding the boot sector run the following: FDISK /MBR. This will rebuild the Boot sector. After running this you should be able to partition and format the drive. My suggestions are what I would try myself. If incorrect, I welcome corrections to my knowledge.
