Hi,

I have a 3G HD. No matter how much I delete I seem to run out of space. I do not have many applications installed - Office 2000, Zope, Python, MySQL and some plug-ins.

I uninstall programs through the control panel and also delete files directly.

Thanks,

JP

A clean format and reinstall will get you lots of space back and everything will run nice and fast.
Problem is however much you delete files and programs there are always things left behind, shared files and cookies.
You could try and use clean disc utility in system tools. here you can delete temporary files no longer in use and a whole lot more rubbish.
Wouldn't it be nice though to never have this problem in the first place? Buy a 20gig Hard drive and your blues will fade away! Martin Vote if you found this post helpful please!!

C:\Windows\Temp

Clean it out.

Internet Explorer: Temp internet files.
> Under Tools:
> Options

* DELETE TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES
When asked to delete OFFLINE CONTENT - DO THAT.

*** THEN: Temporary Internet files - change the SETTINGS to 10 MB..... or LESS

** CHECK C: DRIVE for files with the .chk extension,
and delete them all.

>> See what you come up with.

Write back report how much space on C: drive is open, before you start this,,,,,,, AND AFTER.
( if you are so inclined)

Before Used: 3.01 GB Free: 740 MB

After Used: 2.89 GB Free: 857 MB

Thanks for your helpful posts.

You could also try defrag on your system as this may not give you more space but it will be more efficient.
Have you thought of buying more memory as it is not expensive now.

** I FORGOT ONE KEY THING:
Convert your HARD DRIVE TO FAT32, if it is not already.
