Hey all, I am using win xp pro on system with an Asus a7a266 motherboard, I recently bought a 40 gig maxtor hard drive. My problem is this, not only does windows only detect 33 gigs but so does my motherboard in the bios. I have'nt got a clue what to do, when I installed the hard drive I did a fdisk and format.

Your BIOS has a 32Gb disk limitation. ASUS may provide a flash upgrade for this.

I hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

Thanks, but I that was the first place I looked and I had the latest bios already.

I no this aint much help but try fdisking and reformatting again!!
Pay special attention to partition information, delete all and start again.
