Hello,
I have dealt with this problem on pcs before but have not been around macs enough to have to handle this yet.
We bought an external hd for video editing. Its a maxtor 250Gb and the computer is a G5 imac. I know its os x but I am not sure which version (nor do I know how to find out).
The problem comes in when trying to partition the drive. OSX only seems to want to see 127.28Gb of the drive. On a pc I would check the bios to make sure that the drive is not configured improperly. Near as I can tell there is no customer accessible bios.
The other thing that is sometimes needed on PCs is a registry setting that allows drives larger than 127G.
I looked on maxtor.com for drivers but no luck. Hard drives dont usually require drivers to get the full size from the drive.
Thanks for any help
