Hard Drive seem to be reading all the time

Hi everybody!

I replaced my hard drive last year. after few months, the hard drive always seems to be reading or active (it make hard drive noise and bulb is flashing the whole time) even when I don't touch the computer. At some point I reformated it, but after a month, the problem came back. It's almost impossible to defragment it, because the computer gives me a message that "drive content changed, restarting". same with scandisk. I don't know if it's a virus or some other problem, can anyone help me please?

I've seen this happen to systems assaulted by too many malware items ... anything from viruses, to the vast array of spyware and adware that careless web surfing will bring you.

Chances are, you've been a web surfin' fool and in only a few weeks get infected with Gator, WeatherBug, and other things that we call "drive-by downloads".

You can rebuild your computer all you want; each rebuild will only last until your infections rise to the level of irritation.

Cleaning out these infections is a labor-intensive process. I advise that you read the doxdesk website and slowly clean out your malware. Then, turn off or turn down your ActiveX, which will significantly slow and stop the drive-by downloads of all this aggressive software code.

First, Get good Anti-Virus and Spybot software......
also.......
When you try to Defrag.......Make sure your Screen Saver isn't active(Off/None)......and Power Management is in "always on" choice for all (Monitor/HDD/Standby)....
