Hard drive replacement in mirrored setup 1

I have a BCM where the primary hard drive has crashed and is now running on the secondary. What is the correct procedure on replacing the defective drive?
I have a drive that has the correct software level image on it to replace it with.

I make the 2nd drive number 1 and make the new drive number 2.
