Hi everyone,
I've been repairing PCs for a while now but this time I must admit that I'm beat.
I have a 20 Gb Fujitsu H.D. that holds a dual boot (Win98 & Win2K) managed with PQ Boot. The OS's have been installed a while ago and were working just fine up until today. I haven't done any hardware nor software changes to it and it now comes up with the 'Boot Disk failure insert...' error message but not every time(???). When it does boot, on Win2K for example, I could be trying applications for hours and at times it will freeze on me and come up with 'a hard error has been detected...' don't have time to finish the rest and it blacks out. At that point I cannot reboot at all and it's not recognized in the Bios nor with fdisk.
Tried changing IDE cables, double checked connections on the H.D. and the IDE channels, jumpers A O.K. and still won't boot and not recognized.
Took the H.D., installed it in my PC as primary slave and I can see both partitions clear as day.
I noticed that when I play around with IDE cable, at one point I will be able to boot and work around on the system but only for a while.
On one of my successfull bootup, I patched TCP/135, tested it and scanned for viruses (Specially in boot sector) but the system was clean.

Your help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Is the power supply strong enough to power the system?

Try another power supply if possible.

Thanks Shaner66, I will try that and get back to you.
