I have a samsung 20GB drive with model number SV2044D and the pcb board on the back had a chip fry. I need the data from the hard drive and was wondering if anyone knows of a place to get those PCB boards...I am showing a model on the pcb board of BF41-00024A.

Thanks for any advice. I put in a email to samsung to and hopefully they can give an answer also.

Maybe visit a PC shop and see if they have any old drives
laying around. They may just give it to you if they have one.

You probably can't buy a PC board for it... a new drive would be cheaper.

If you have the right very small tools (soldering iron, microscope, Solderwick, solder, tweezers, etc) you could replace the chip. Most off the shelf chips (except the EEPROMs containing firmware) can be found at or
But then... if the chip that fried was due to another faulty component... repacing the one that fried might not help.
