Hi, I just reformated my computer and it seems like the computer just won't let me use that new hard drive. It has worked before but I don't remember what I did to make it work. I have a Wester Digital 200 Gig. Were there any CD rom for me to install?

What I did to try to make it work was uninstalled the hard drive and Add-New-Hardware. It all seems good but when I look in My Computer, it just doesn't show up. If it would it would show up as G:\... PLEASE HELP ME, THANKS!

KhiemTran;

I'm assuming this is a secondary drive and your O/S is on a different drive since you call it Drive G:.

First off, check the jumper settings and make sure it is jumpered correctly for how you have it plugged together (master, slave, cable select).

Keep in mind that if this is not a new drive, it will erase everything on the drive.

Boot up windows and go into Disk Management. (Right click My Computer, select Manage, select Disk Management)
You should see the drive listed in the right hand pane.

Right click on the disk and select format. Here you can slect the partition size, the format type, the drive letter, etc. Until you do this, your drive won't be seen by Windows Explorer or My Computer.
