I am experiencing a problem when I clone hdisk0 on a B80 RS/6000 processor. I use the following commands to clone the drive to hdisk1:
alt_disk_install -C hdisk1
alt_disk_install -X

When I insert the cloned drive into another processor the new drive is not recognized. This appeared to be working for quite some time and now it is not. Any ideas?

Really need some help here. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

unixfreak,
Do you want me to run the command right after the cloning is done on the source processor or run it once we eventually are able to get the target processor back? I'm afraid we still haven't been able to find a repeatable method for recovering the target processor either. After wiping out the bootlist (with and without the Diagnostics CD), rebooting a few times, pulling the drive, and clicking our heels three times, the drive eventually shows up and then we can set the bootlist and bring the processor up. I appreciate any help you can give. Go4th
