I finally got my Western Digital HD to run at UDMA 100 and it is fast as all heck :)
But now the light on the PC which normally shows that the HD is working steadily glows even if the hard drive is idle. I have no errors across the board when I look at the device properties.

PC:
PIII 866 FC-PGA Socket 370
MSI 815E Pro
Hercules 3D Prophet2 GTS
2 30 GIG Western Digital 7200 UDMA Hardrives
Creative CDRW
Creative 48X CDROM
3Com NIC
Cable Modem300 Watt power supply

May be a failure of the drive select lamp circuitry on the drive. You didn't say you were having drive problems, so will assume that it is indicator problem.
Take the system down, uncable the signal cable and power back up. If the light is still on you have problem on the drive. If it comes back on after you reassemble it indicates that it is getting a select signal from the computer. Ed Fair

OK.. I tested that and the light went out. What can I do if it is a signal from the computer as you said?

First, are you having a problem? If not, let sleeping dogs lie.
Can be a jumper in error, can be the controller, can be shorted cable conducters.
Go to drive manufacturers website and get specs on the drive. Should show what jumpers are required and the drive pinout. Verify that it is correct. After that it is a matter of opening individual leads until you find the one causing the problem and tracing back to the M/B to see what causes it to be active.
Sorry that there's no magic answer. Ed Fair

No signs of performance problems.. the bright glow bugs me and there are times that I like to know when the HD is cranking away....and thanks.. will try all of the above. If I can't solve it.. I will just leave it unplugged. Have a good day!
