I am running a 766 celeron with 128 Mg of Ram.It hass a 20 gig hard drive with 2 gig left open. I just ran it through an updated Anti-virus system and cleaned out the infected files. I also went into msconfig and unchecked just about everything. It is running Win ME. The problem is without doing anything on it, the hard drive just spins and spins and spins. Something is accessing it. I am not connected at all to the internet on this machine. Any ideas how to find what is accessing it and what I can do to stop it (Short of dropping it 2 stories because it is ME)?

Since you had a virus on it, I would assume there is still one on the machine first.

Can you boot to a command prompt and run the antivirus from there?
