hey fellows,
I just bought a 200GB hard drive which I plan on using as my secondary hard drive. It's all connected (slave connections), my BIOS recognizes it, when I right click on my computer and go to device manager, I see it listed there as well...BUT I can't see it in the my computer folder. I only see my primary hard drive.
Any help?

Are we talking about a formatted or unformatted hard drive?

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

I'm not sure but since it's a brand new drive, I'm assuming its formatted. Windows is not recognizing the second drive.

Brand new hard drives are never ever formated. You have to fdisk it and then format it. If ou use XP you can format it in your device manager. Do that and you can use it.

New drives are not formatted, this is because the manufacturer does not know in what format the purchaser will require.
XP?
Follow:
Start
My computer
Control panel
Adminitrative tools
Computer management
Storage
Disk management
Sellect the new drive
Right click
make partion (or partitions) and format in your prefered file system (usually NTFS) bobs your uncle.
Just make sure you know which is the new drive (don't make a mistake)
