I recently moved a bunch of photos from my internal hard drive to an external hard drive. In the process I freed up a couple gigs. Now my internal hard drive churns away--it's very very slow. I'm not sure why this happend

I've tried defrag, chkdsk/f, disk cleanup but nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions? I feel like I need to buy a new hard drive

Thanks!

Try going to the drive manufacturer's site, download the diagnostics for the drive and run them. Perhaps they will confirm your suspicions.

Forget not, that if the drive is less than three years old, the manufacturer will repair it under warranty. Sure, you'll most likely buy a new drive anyway, but at least you'll have a spare one when it eventually comes back.

Carlsberg don't run I.T departments, but if they did they'd probably be more fun.
