Hello--

Our Merlin's Hard Drive is making a terrible squealing noise. It sounds like a bearing... I've heard this sound in a few desktops out in high-industrial areas.

Where can I get a spare drive? Is it anything special? Someone told me once that it's just a 50pin SCSI drive... can I use any drive? Is it serialized in any way?

Any help would be great...

Which release Merlin Mail do you have? They are not SCSI, all Merlin Mails have IDE hard drives. Contact us and we can help you find the correct drive with compatible software for your system. Brian Cox

Make sure it isn't the fan for the power supply. Typically the hard drive will outlast several power supllies. I have changed out many.
