I am rebuilding a PC, and I am getting an error
relating to the hard drive. When the PC boots,
I get an error stating: "I/O error - replace the
drive and press any key". The master/slave
jumper is set correctly. When I boot from a boot
disk, I can read data from the hard drive which
leads me to believe that the BIOS is recognizing
the H.D. parameters. When I replace the hard drive
completely, the PC boots fine. My only thought was
that the MBR may be bad. Any ideas?
