Tried to refresh Win 2000 Pro system files. Kept getting hard dirve corrupt errors, until I uninstalled Norton Sytem Works. I was booting from the Win 2000 CD ROM. Also during System Works (version 4.01) install, Win 2000 warned me that system files were replaced, and was prompting for the Win 2000 CD to put back the correct ones.

Anyone had problems with System Works like this? I have another system with the same op system, and no problems.

FYI: Pulled all cards, but video. All hardware on the Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List.

It very well could be a bad Hard Drive. Have thought about replacing it? James Collins

Tried three different hard drives, all new, two different brands, same result. Unistalling System Works is the only thing that appeared to help. Asus MB is on HCL, but with a different BIOS (hate it when they do that).
