I just had a 10gig WD drive crash. I used the western digital software (Data Lifeguard v11.0 for DOS)from their site to copy OS to a Quantum lct 15 drive that had deen a TiVo drive. I unlocked the drive using qunlock and rebooted before starting the copy of the OS to the Quantum. On bootup the system saw the Quantum and the correct size. When copy was finished I made the new drive IDE1 master and disconnected the old WD. The system would not boot - just black screen after normal start up stuff.

Any ideas?

Boot from a startup diskette and look at drive c: to be sure you actually installed the os.If you did then run f-disk and be sure you made the partition active. You must have an active partition to boot. Hope this helps.
