I am trying to start A old comp.(zenon), It will bring up windows 98 screen for approx. 30 sec. then screen goes black ,and it says "error reading hard drive C". I have done boot disc,tried installing win 98 from cd, even did "FDISC" after A prompt,nothing works. PLEASE HELP>

Sounds like the HD is terminal. Try the boot floppy and scandisk c:. That may find an fix some problems. But You'll probably have to reload 98 after the fix since it sounds like you've lost critical system files. Ed Fair

Hi Mazzenga;

You said "...even did "FDISC" after A prompt,nothing works."

Just a guess here, but did you format C after the fdisk? [ponder]
