I have a new hard drive which I was planning to add as a second drive. Once installed - with my boot disk in the slot, the computer tries to boot from the new drive? I just get a black screen.
If I disconnect the drive as now the computer boots as it should!!!!!
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Have you made sure that the original HDD is set as Master and the new drive is set as Slave?

Yes. I set the old as master and the new to slave. I even set the two drives to cable select and postioned the cable.
I even tried to set the new drive as a slave on the cd cable.
I read somewhere that I might have to reset the MBR?
