hard drive at 100% need any ideas.

I have a ibm 8204-e8a with 64G of ram, AIX 5.3 that is running jcaps,(integration engine), about every 40 seconds i have a hard drive that hits 100 busy and then after 20 seconds slows down and 20 seconds later it start all over again. IBM hasnt been able to figure anything out, Sun, hasnt figured anything out. So i am asking for any thoughts or ideas ..

Why is it a problem? This may be the way it is *supposed* to behave. Alternatively, what is the sync rate?

Take a look at the filemon command, it can help you know what is using the hdisk.
