Hi,

I have a Seagate hard disk on a PC that some months ago (2 I think) stopped working because of a problem with the power supply.
Before it was working without any problem.

Now I am trying to fix it, changed tha power supply and it switches on.
But from there, nothing happens.

The monitor doesn´t show anything, not even the memory count.

I have tried some components on another working PC. So I have tried the memory only, on my working PC, and it doesn´t work; then I have done the same with the hard drive and it does´t work either.

What could have happened?
Could it maybe that I have to reformat the HD?

In the shop they asked me like 300 EUROS/DOLARS at least!!

Thanks in advanced,

imendi

Unfortunately when Power supplies fail they often take out (destroy) other hardware, particularly hard drives, so it is common to have to replace a HD after a PSU failure.
Note* to all who have cheapo generic power supplies fitted as we speak! it may be working alright now and indeed it may never fail, fngers crossed!
But if you are serious about your PC's buy a branded power supply with plenty of reserve 350watt+, for peace of mind and improved stability.
Antec, Enermax etc etc. Martin Please let members know if there advice has helped any.
