I know that Thanksgiving Day is a USA observance tomorrow, and that Tek-Tipsters world wide express their gratitude in a variety of ways and days, but I wanted to let my Tek-Tips/Making An Impression Family know that I am grateful for you all and your friendship.

Kind regards,

Happy Thanksgiving to all you 'mericans.

Don't eat TOO much.
Make sure you buy something Friday.
Enjoy your flight if you are flying.

Heh heh, fumei. First you say...

Happy Thanksgiving to all you 'mericans.

...then you say...

Don't eat TOO much.

Make up your mind! [bigsmile]

We are a country that invented the 64 oz individual serving beverage container. And we're proud of it too!

A big part of our Thanksgiving Holiday is recognizing the things we're thankful for. I'm very thankful for Tek-Tips and the Tek-Tips community for both technical assistance and entertainment. I wish you all a great Holiday season (for us 'mericans, the Christmas season starts in just a day or two. And depending on which store you wandered into, it can even start around Halloween).

Cheers!

I'm thankful for being able to read Tek-Tips while I'm waiting for a production change to behave properly and let me go home.

Happy Thanksgiving folks. I'm giving thanks for being in paid employment at least until September 2011. And other stuff!

RE: eating too much...

A number of years ago, visiting Hawaii with friends ('mericans) we went to dinner and my host ordered and ate! a 52 oz steak. I ordered fresh off the boat tuna (unbelievably good), and was sitting beside him. When that slab of cow was plunked down in front of him I could not believe my eyes.

I eat beef, but that is obscenely over the top. He is a big guy, but seriously, the amount of (generalized) dietary excesses is ridiculous.

[maroon]Happy Turkey Day to those south of the 49th parallel![/maroon]

As a "Far" North American, I observed turkey day last month... still recovering from the food consumed methinks.

All I ask is you warn the local hospital should TurbaConDucken be on the menu.

Hey, if you can eat it in an hour, you can get a 72-oz. (2.04 KG) steak for free. So far this year (through early November), 124 over-satisfied souls have successfully completed the challenge (i.e., 1 "winner" every 2.5 days). Some of the "winners' " comments are pretty amusing.

The "champ" ate one in 8:52. Ummm, that is well under one hour.
That is non-stop, for almost nine minutes, of eating - 7 seconds per ounce.

Man, he must have had quite the dump after. I doubt stomach acids could deal with that very well, as there must have been little serious chewing. That is disgusting.
