It is only fitting that the word of the day (Dr. Goodword) is:
• leprechaun •

Pronunciation: le-prê-kahn • Hear it!

Part of Speech: Noun

Meaning: A mythical Irish elfin, one of the mischievous Little People of Irish folklore with secrets to hidden treasure they share with those who catch them.

Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Most of the population of Dublin by later this afternoon

[stpatrick][stpatrick2][leprechaun][cheers]

<Do I need A Signature or will an X do?>

Sleipnir214: I assume that's the result of the intoxication mentioned by RCorrigan? Best wishes anyway, there's hundreds of plastic Paddys on the streets here today!!

Ken I think the correct response should have been "Bless You" :)

<Do I need A Signature or will an X do?>

KenCunningham:
You're right. Canonically, I think it should be "[É]ireann go Br[á]ch".

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! I think I'll go out, have a few pints, and get a little 'Irish' tonight.[dazed]

CC,
Were you trying to drag us into a conversation about whether it is St. Patricks' (as in the title of the thread) or St. Patrick's (as in the body of your post)? [wink]

[stpatrick][cheers]Sláinte!
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
The the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rain fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Is 'Sláinte!" something like 'Let's waiste ourselves unconsciously!' ?

it is actually Gaelic for "To your health". But as far as common usage goes, you've definitely got the gist.[thumbsup2]
