Happy New Year everyone !!
[cheers]

Shall we call it "twenty-ten" or "two thousand ten"?

I'm all for "Two Thousand Ten". My pet peeve of the new year is those that now refer to the year as "Oh-Ten".

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year (and Decade).

I'll stick with what most of the "number-to-words" routines call it - two thousand (and) ten.

HNY all.

I'm for twenty ten.

For those two thousanders, would you say one thousand nine hundred ten or one thousand nine hundred anything?

I was born in nineteen fourty two.

Happy New Year.

Good one SkipVought. I'm for Twenty-Ten as well.

Did you say "two thousand nine" or "twenty oh nine"?

Two thousand and nine, or two thousand nine.

I've used both, but I prefer twenty oh nine, as I would normally hear nineteen oh nine.

==> Two thousand and nine
How do you folks feel about the 'and' being part of the number?

Is it a new decade already? I thought 2010 is the last year of the current decade?

I've heard a lot of folks on TV using "Two thousand AND ten." I'm good with that or "Two thousand ten." But please, please, please...let's not use "Oh-TEN." In my wife's native language, that means something entirely different. Let's just say it has to do with a body part...I'll leave it at that. [censored]

The 'and ten' grates on my ears, but not as much as 'oh-ten' does!

Twenty oh ten is just plain wrong. It's not 20010.

For this year, ten, one ought not prefix nor nought.

Thanks and same to everyone.

I prefer twenty-ten. I was saying ought-nine.

One vote for Two Ought-Ten (just to be a trouble maker). [bigsmile]
