i've got a W2k Domain controller that boots up and hangs at "preparing network connections"

i've tried safe mode, hangs at login, tried every other mode, no luck (even last known config)

also disabled the nics on the bios!

Search the web, tried different things no luck yet!

any suggestions?
I would like to edit the registry, anyone know of a registery editor that I can boot off of?
THANKS

Have you checked your hardware?.Enabele the NIC and change the cable connecting the NIC to the switch or hub which ever you are using.if that does not solve the problem, check your server documentation and find out the date that the nic was installed if it is not built in nic.Usually, some nics life time is sometimes over three years depending upon the vendor. May be the nic too is not good
