Handsfree Mute Button - M2616

I'm trying to understand the 2616 phones. We've got almost exclusively 2317s and have never had this problem, but nobody can figure out this 2616. I've got HFA in the class, which from what I understand will allow me to use speakerphone. From what I also believe from prior questions, Key 15 on the standard 2616 becomes the Hands Free Mute button, assuming nothing else is programmed in that slot, if HFA is turned on. However, the Handsfree/Mute button isn't functioning at all, and the mic doesn't pick up anything.

What do I need to do to get the handsfree features functional on this phone? Does anybody have ANY ideas?

can do you an IDU on the TN and post the phone's part #? and you might as well post the phone's TN as well.

Sounds like a defective phone. The HFA in CLS and key 15 not programed as anything, the phone should work as handsfree. Maybe its an old phone without the handsfree function.
