Good Morning,
You need to change an option on the phone itself. press the option key, scroll down to the "Live Dial Pad" option, and turn it on (select yes). Then, if you press a line key, or start dialing, the speaker phone will activate automatically.
i don't have live dialpad turned on and when I press my DN key I go straight to speaker. What rls is the phone? should be on the phone's label underneath.
I always thought it was "works like a charm"...in either case, it didn't seem to me like live keypad what what shroud needed; I thought he just wanted to press his DN key and automatically activate the speaker. but I think shroud is satisfied with live keypad so I guess all is well.
good morning...Coniglio..you are right that was initially what I required, concerning pressing a DN key and auto activating the speaker..however the live dialpad seems to have achieved the objective..!! Not sure why your live dial pad is off and you still can get the speaker activated...what release are your phones..?
No wonder I was confused..I thought Champ was a new phone brought out by Nortel..Glad to have that clarified..!!
Assuming this is an M3900 set there is an option called SET ON HOOK DEFAULT PATH, followed by HANDSFREE SELECTED or HEADSET SELECTED. I have mine set to HANDSFREE. That may be what's missing for you (not sure, though). I don't like live keypad because if you misdial you have to then hang up and start over. but, to each his own. Cheers to you too!
