I'm fairly new to our Meridian 11, and I've just been asked to swap two handsets, a 2006 and a 2616. There will be no swap of TNs or DNs, just a physical swap of the handsets, and I was wondering if the Meridian will pick up the change automatically? Obviously the one extension would gain a lot of features being upgraded to a 2616, and one would lose features.

If it doesn't pick up the change automatically, how would I make the change manually?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but the only other person that I can ask is on holiday for two weeks.

Thanks in anticipation

Nothis won't work as simple as you would like. Print out the TN on the existing phone, then out that set, and rebuild it as a 2616. You can do all that in LD 20.

LD 20
Prt

type = tn
enter old tn

out
type=2006
tn= existing tn

then

new
type =2616
tn= same tn you just outted
then follow prompts for DN,CLS and keys
You might also want to print an existing 2616 so you see how it is programmed

the way i do that is to locate a vacant tn, luvu
Code:
OVL000
>ld 20

PT0000
REQ: luvu
TYPE: 2000
TN
TYPE 2000 TN   004 0 06 11  8D  VCE

then do a three way mov, also in 20, mov and then type, then from tn to to tn.. either way it's a little faster then moving jumpers, another choice. btw your moving sets, handsets do not have related software
