Handset not working with headset connected (but not in use)

I have a user that just got a Plantronics CS540 w/APV-63 to connect to her 9640g phone (H323 mode). The headset is working fine - all features seem to be functioning as expected. However, she was charging it towards the end of the day and attempted to use the regular handset to answer a call, and while she could hear the caller, the caller could not hear her - no audio was being transmitted. We've made a few more test calls - same result.

IP Office version is 9.1.11. The 9640g firmware is 3.270B.

Any ideas?

If you cant change the dip switch for the handpiece on the headset base station, then you need to modify the rj11 wires to reverse the polarity on the curly cord.

eg pins 1234 become pins 1324 at the other end of the curly cord. Easy fix.

Thanks. Was about to re-pin when I noticed the cable was partly frayed in the middle. Replaced the entire cable and all is good.
