Does anyone have a source or recommendation for a GOOD handset cord detangler?
The ones Mitel originally sold in the early days of the SS400 series sets were junk and became staticky within 2~3 months after being placed in service. Mike Sandman in Chicago is selling the same detangler and it is still junk.
Is there anything better ???????
I have 1 system with currently 1400 supersets (MFRD-21 & Expanded Pers) that's kicking my butt on service calls for tangled cords. We're replacing avg of 4 cords a week on request and when we do large moves we're proactively replacing 1 in 5 cords as a customer courtesy.
Someone suggested spraying a little WD40 into the noisey detanglers would keep them in service a little longer, which worked but then the plastic housing of the detangler breaks down a couple months later (only those sprayed w/WD40). Either way I'm replacing detanglers left and right at $8 bux a pop or having to send a tech to replace cords. The account is under a M.A. so I have to eat these nuisance costs. No, not a great deal of cost, but a major nuisance to us as well as the cust.
The cust. complains that the recessed jack makes it difficult for them to replace their own cords, else they would do so.
What are others doing?
