Handsearch data?

If Google yields nothing worthwhile, I would simply contact and ask. When these things get written up, they sometimes contain references to proprietary apps or processes... who knows.
And asking is a good way to display interest and even possibly make you noticeable. If you ask politely and with good grammar, you should not hurt yourself at all... and you may improve your odds.

Well, the top-ranking result for "handsearch data" is this thread!
Looking at the others it appears to be something to do with searching scientific journals by hand, and storing the resulting matches. Like Thadeus says, though, better to ask them what it means than trying to guess.
