Hi Guys,
I am migrating a table and it is telling me that three of the fields could be truncated.
I would like to report on the records that are truncated and allow them to be migrated.
What would be the best way of doing this?
Many thanks.
PS. I am using SSIS 2005

I usually just increase the size of the target column when going from Source to Staging. If you're going from a Staging table to a DW table, then figure the logic in the source query by trimming or otherwise cleansing the data -or- increase the size of the target column.

Thanks RiverGuy. I am actually fine with the truncation, just want to report on those records.

Apply a multicast transform then after the multicast you can put in a conditional split with the condition being where the LEN > the destination column width. you can output these records to an exception table while at the same time having the multicast feed you normal destination.
