Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use to manage alarm email notifications

We get 1500 notifications a month from various systems , some of which can be ignored , some require attention

we are trying to find a Solution where we can diplay some alerts on a large TV screen (connected to a PC)

happy to run any OS on the laptop ( win , linux) dont want to spend a fortune

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Are the systems mentioned SNMP capable,
I.e. sending traps?

Not directly to use - we have multiple sites sending emails from multiple servers

- at the moment we are using thunderbid as a mail client ( recieving them) and message filtering with alrts

Hmm. I don't have a better solution then you use now.

SNMP is normally the way to go. Maybe you can have a look if that could be am option to migrate to.

If you never used SNMP, then I agree it's a new world you'll enter.

But then you can use monitoring systems
with nice dashboards like Microsoft scom, prtg, solarwinds, nagios, etc, etc
