Handets ringing after call picked up on ATM combo

Hi guys, Im having a problem with an IPO v2 controller (7.0(5) running x2 combo atm cards, the customer has two buildings with x2 bt lines running into each sepperate line group id configured for lines on both trunks with redundant trunks set as out of service

In one of the buildings when a call is presented after the user answers the call the other handsets ring for 2 or 3 rings ( x2 bt cordless handsets and x1 1408 the additional/phantom ring occurs on any of the phones inc the 1408)

lines configured as loop start and ring off max timer reduced from 4000 ms down to 2000 ms trunk settings mirror that of the working ATM, however the issue still seems to be persistant on every inbound call on both lines.

Has anyone encountered this in the past? just wanted to check before we start swapping hardware maybe i've overlooked a setting.

This happens with certain DECT phones. DECT phones will ring one more cycle if the call is answered just as that cycle begins, it's the way DECT phones like that work. The base sends out a trigger signal to the handset to ring and it will just ring one cycle, if no other trigger is received it stops if it's triggered again it rings one more cycle but it can't stop mid ring unless you physically answer that handset....that's what I have found in the past anyway

Thats the way the DECT standard is set. Dects will always finish their ring cycle. (learnt that on a Kirk course ;-) )

Would the fact that the (for want of a better description) phantom ring also occurs on the 1408 point the issue away from the dect

What does SSA show as the call is answered and the 1408 handset rings? You may want to consider upgrading off 7.0.5 before your system defaults itself too

Thanks amriddle for the info will check when im back in the office later and post the findings.. 7.05 defaulting systems sense an upgrade coming on

Yeah, first time since 6.0 I had it but then I had two default on 7.0.5, so I upgrade any we have off that just in case
