I'd like to have a hand type Mouse pointer on Label control to simulate hyperlink.

In my VFP values 0 to 14 are allowed for Mouse pointer property but none of them gives hand type pointer. I've also tried MousePointer=99, but available hand type cursors at \window\cursors\ look different from that one normally seen in Windows XP (with shadow).

Any suggestion?

Thank you, Tom

Tom,

Which version of VFP do you have?

In 7.0 and above, MousePointer 15 is a hand. In lower versions, you will have to look for a custom cursor to use instead.

If you have difficulty finding one, contact me by email and I will send you my version.

Mike

Hi Mike,
I'm very sorry, but I'm still VFP 5.

Nevertheless my problem is not a disability to use a custom cursor with the shape of hand (by means of \WINDOWS\Cursors\harrow.cur or by \Program Files\DevStudio\VFP\SAMPLES\GRAPHICS\CURSORS\H_POINT.CUR)
Problem is that these hand pointers differ from "system" hand pointer that appears in every web browser when cursor is over the link. Mentioned system cursor has a shadow behind it and is nicer, if one can tell that about a cursor. But mainly - the user should get the same cursor in the same situation regardless of the program running.

I feel that a shadow behind a pointer is something which can't be defined easily in *.cur file. I'm going to contact you by mail.

Thank you
Toman

Toman,

You're right. There is a definite difference. The one I sent you does not have the shadow, and it has a sort of cuff below the hand. The user will notice the difference. But I guess it's better than nothing.

Mike

Any reason you're still in VFP 5? There have been so many productivity changes since, along with lots of little changes like the solution to your current problem.
