Hello,

I've been trying to install Exchange 2003 on a Windows 2003 member server for several days without sucess. It gets through most of the install fine but when it tries to start the MSExchangeSA service it just hangs - i left it overnight in the hope it would figure itself out but it was still at the same point in the morning. I have killed the install and restarted the server but it takes 3-4 hours because it gets stuck on the "Applying computer settings" screen. I've tried this several times but the only way that fixed it was to dcpromo the server! - i've read several articals that says this is definatly not a recommended configuration. Has anyone had the same problems and if so how did you get round it?

Also when I start the install the exchange setup informs me that this version of exchange has known compatability issues with windows server 2003!!

thanks in advance.
