Hi

Can anyone tell me where the network configuration within a 2 node HACMP cluster would be kept?

Our HACMP person is off, and we have a 2 node cluster here that needs some changes. The 1st node is the production node, with the 2nd just being there for failover.

The problem is that all the routing on the second node is set up during the failover event so that it remains 'invisible' when in standby mode.

The requirement now is to add default and static routes onto the 2nd node so it is always accessible. Easy enough to do, but I want to then remove the setting up of this within the HACMP failover.

Thanks.

It should be getting that information from the /etc/hosts. You should beable to see the config, change it, delete it in :
smitty hacmp ---> Extended Configuration --> Extended Topology Configuration --> Configure HACMP Communication Interfaces/Devices

That should get you in there

Are you refering to Persistent IP address by mentioning static routes? The persistent IP address will stay there whether the node is holding the resource or not! You can find this just as what THOR01 explained above:

smitty hacmp ---> Extended Configuration --> Extended Topology Configuration --> Configure HACMP Communication Interfaces/Devices --> Configure HACMP Persistent Node IP Label/Addresses

Regards,
Khalid

If routing is setup when failover , one thing you may to check is the stop and start scripts to see if there are
route add etc.. commands in there

To find out stop and start scripts

HACMP-Extended Resource Configuration -HACMP Extended Resources Configuration -Configure HACMP Application Servers
--Configure HACMP Application Servers-- Change/Show an Application Server

Then look at the patch for stop and start scripts
