Hello!

Has anybody tried to use this configuration?
>>>>>HACMP and 4 port ethernet adapter<<<<<<
IBM says "it is not supported". I would use
two 4-way adapters. One for the boot/service IPs
and one for standby IPs.
Reason:
Resource group needs 2 service IPs, one for
intranet communication and one for application-
database communication.
So I would need 4 PCI ports.
With 4 port adapters it would be two less.

As far as I understand HACMP it should
work ( SwapAdapter and Failover )

Anybody there with experience?

Thank you

Robert,

You are correct in your theory it should work you negate the SPOF via the second four port adapter and as long as you ensure that service and standby addresses are bound to the specific cards you should be OK.

Best of luck PSD
