I'm in the process of rebuilding a two node HACMP cluster. Originally the nodes were running AIX 4.3.3, HA 4.x and had two resource groups defined. Both resource groups were setup as cascading in the same public network. It was a fairly simple setup.
Now I'm loading AIX 5.2, using HA 5.1, and I need three cascading resource groups. The problem that I'm encountering is that I can only seem to get one cascading resource group defined on a node. The second resource group I configure loses its service IP address. When I then look at the HACMP network topology per node, it lists only the service IP of the first configured resource group.
All the resource group IPs are on the same public subnet (and hacmp defined public network)
I'm not using IP aliasing because I'd like to spread the incoming IP traffic across network adapter and it looks like if I use IP aliasing all traffic will come in on one adapter.
