I have a Norstar account that has been hacked. Other than building a restriction blocking 011 (international calling). Should I do anything else to stop this from happening again?
Passwords Passwords Passwords. I can't say it enough. Hackers use the voice mail to dial out. So have ALL users change passwords in their voice mail make sure they are strong.
In addition:
Disable Out Dialing in the voice mail except for those who really need it.
On the phone system, restrict lines from 011 and *67.
I did not know Perry had done one, here is mine too which is a little more updated and how they forward the lines at night and cancel it in the morning using Off Prem Notify:
If international calls are not regularly made from the system, have the dial tone provider disable international dialing, aside from our neighbors in Canada and Mexico.
