Hi all,

I was wondering how I can find out or prevent someone getting to our network via one of our fax lines? Funny thing is I thought we disconnected the system from our network...is there another way they can get in??

By network you are refering to your telephone system or your data network? If you are talking about toll fraud through the switch then yes their are a lot of ways to get in and cost you Major money very quickly. I would have to say the most used way would be allowing trunk to trunk transfer. That little "y" cost me $38,000 one weekend. It's not there anymore needless to say.

The next thing to look for would be your remote access and INADS port.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

I believe both. Some how he got in through our fax line, somehow got into our data network. Funny thing is We disconnected the phone system (with pc fax capabilities) because it caused collisions on our data network with IP address conflicts.
