Dear Support,

What kind the condition after system issued 'shutdown -F'
the system would be automatic reboot ?(AIX 4.3.3 and HACMP 4.4 included)
Actually,we compare shutdown file with other machine was the same size and contents,so could you give me a help?

shutdown -F would just force the system to SHUTDOWN... If you enter "shutdown -Fr" then that would force the system to Re-Boot!

Hope this helped..

Dear Sir,

But actally we just only type 'shutdown -F' and then wait a monent the H70 machine was automatic startup, thus, I think maybe is HACMP problem because HACMP heartbeat just occup S2 on H70,so I guess have somthing impact.
Based on our experience when H model would like to install HACMP S/W that we will be install 8 port adapter on H70 machine(heartbeat) and also not use S1 or S2 port. However,if use S1,or S2 maybe will appear problem, how do you think for that ?

Regards!

Perhaps there is some problem in /etc/rc.shutdown and the system does not actually reboot?

We use 8 port adapter for heartbeat as well as the LAN connection. IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Obfuscation
